Challenge

Jeff Koons, one of the greatest living artists in the world, wanted to be able to make his one-of-a-kind pieces more available to the public. To do so, he enlisted Google to help him make it happen. Together, they unveiled a collaboration of phone cases for Google’s Nexus device.  The cases feature limited edition images from Koons’ “Gazing Ball” series.

Solution

FTV was brought on board to help bolster the collaboration with celebrity social media posts and VIP attendance at their New York launch event.

To kick off the project, FTV looked to art savvy talent to further promote the #KoonsXGoogle hashtag. Lady Gaga, Marc Jacobs, U2’s Bono, Carmelo Anthony, Gretchen Mol, and Arianna Huffington all shared images on their social channels of themselves with a “Gazing Ball” along with the #KoonXGoogle hashtag.

Outcome

Furthering the life of the collaboration, FTV brought in a hand-picked group of NY-based tastemakers for an exclusive launch party with the artist. Attendees included: Mia Moretti, Victor Cruz, Leigh Lezark, Amy Sedaris, Alysia Reiner and Selita Ebanks. 

These two celebrity programs allowed for consumers to grasp an understanding of the unique product and directly interact with a living legend.
